About our School

Great Bentley Primary School was built in 1896. Since then the school has had much rebuilding and remodelling. The most recent rebuild was completed in 2003. The school has maintained it's historic front throughout.

We are a community school catering for 210 boys and girls aged 4-11, serving the catchment area of Great Bentley, Thorrington, Frating, Little Bentley and Aingers Green.

Wherever possible these children are placed in single classes. Most children who attend the school will attend Colne Community High School.

Anybody who visits Great Bentley Primary School cannot help but be impressed by its welcoming atmosphere and the happy, disciplined attitude of the children. The caring ethos of the school shines through and this is all due to the dedicated teaching of a very stable and balanced staff.
