Parent Teacher Association (PTA)

The 'Friends of Great Bentley Primary School' is a friendly PTA team of parents, carers, staff and volunteers who work together to enrich school life and create memorable experiences for every child.

Our aim is simple: to raise funds that enhance the children’s education and wellbeing, while bringing our wonderful school community together through fun, inclusive events.

Whether you can volunteer regularly, help at a single event, donate a raffle prize or simply attend our events, every contribution makes a real difference.

What We Do

Throughout the year we organise a variety of events for children, families and the wider community, including:

School discos
Film nights
Seasonal fairs and markets
Christmas activities
Easter events
Summer celebrations
Mother’s Day and Father’s Day gift events
Bake sales and themed fundraising days
Quiz nights and other community events

We’re always looking for new ideas and volunteers, so if you’d like to get involved we’d love to hear from you.

How Your Support Helps

Every pound raised goes straight back into the school, helping to fund resources, experiences and equipment that benefit all of our children.

Over the years, PTA fundraising has contributed towards:

Outdoor play and learning equipment
Sensory resources
Library books and reading initiatives
Technology and educational equipment
School events and enrichment activities
Subsidies for educational visits and experiences
Equipment that supports learning, wellbeing and play across the school

We work hard to ensure that the funds we raise benefit children across the whole school, supporting projects and opportunities that make a real difference to every pupil’s experience.

Get Involved

The PTA usually meets once a term to plan events, share ideas and decide how best to support the school. New members are always welcome, and there’s no need for any previous experience - just enthusiasm and a willingness to help.

If joining the committee isn’t for you, we’d still love your support. Many of our events rely on volunteers to help with setting up, running stalls, serving refreshments or tidying away afterwards. Even giving just an hour or two of your time can make a huge difference.
